Sierra Mist

Eating Together (Comer Juntos).

Sierra Mist set out to build a social recipe community around the idea of eating together. Comer Juntos, hosted by Aaron Sanchez, became a bilingual experience that brought a real chef into fans' kitchens.

The brief, in full.

Sierra Mist hired chef Aaron Sanchez to create original Sierra Mist recipes, from drinks to entrees and desserts, and filmed the work in both English and Spanish.

A Facebook app let fans watch the recipe videos, share them across social platforms, and comment in either English or Spanish.

Fans could also download recipe PDFs, turning each video into something printable and reusable at home. The effort was described as a viral success that met people where they already gathered.

What needed to change.

Turn a soft drink audience into an active bilingual community sharing recipes, using social platforms people already lived on rather than a destination site.

How the work moved.

A real chef in the kitchen

Built for the feed

A Facebook app let fans watch, share recipes across social platforms and comment in either language — meeting people where they already gathered.

Take it home

Recipe PDFs made each video printable and reusable, turning a watch into something fans could cook from that night.

The result.

The bilingual Eating Together app seeded a shareable recipe community across social platforms, with chef-led video content fans watched, commented on and downloaded in both English and Spanish.
