For people living with Type 1 diabetes, a severe low-blood-sugar emergency is sudden and frightening. Eli Lilly needed a first-of-its-kind iPhone app that could bring calm and confidence to that moment.

The Glucagon app was the first-of-its-kind iPhone application for Type 1 diabetes, designed to guide loved ones through responding when it mattered most.
UX and UI were shaped through regulatory review alongside research and testing with real diabetes patients, repetition and education were built into the experience on purpose to build confidence in times of crisis.
The goal was deceptively simple, but difficult to achieve: give people with Type 1 diabetes and their loved ones peace of mind by removing fear from an emergency.
